Announcing the Aotearoa New Zealand Immunisation Conference 2025 and pre-conference Workshop

The Immunisation Advisory Centre is excited to announce the Aotearoa New Zealand Immunisation Conference 2025 and pre-conference Workshop, to be held at Wintec City Campus in Hamilton in September.

We encourage you to save the date:

  • Aotearoa New Zealand Immunisation Conference - 4-5 September 2025
  • Pre-conference Workshop - 3 September 2025

This is a highly anticipated event on the immunisation calendar and is designed to bring together immunisation thought leaders, researchers, healthcare professionals and policy makers for an empowering and informative few days. This event will showcase the latest advancements, strategies and data in immunisation efforts, helping to strengthen immunisation uptake.

We are currently confirming a great lineup of international and local invited Conference speakers. You can read more on our Conference and Workshop webpage. We’ll be updating this webpage over the coming weeks and months with more information – we’ll also be sharing updates in upcoming newsletters.

Call for abstracts

We invite you to help shape the future of immunisation by submitting your proposals for an oral presentation or poster to be included in the Aotearoa New Zealand Immunisation Conference 2025 academic programme. Submissions close on 6 June 2025.

Two streams for oral presentation abstracts will be considered again this year:

Academic Research – for project-based qualitative or quantitative research conducted to answer key questions about immunisation and vaccine-preventable diseases. Abstracts will be required to include details on background, methods, results and conclusions

Policy & Practice – to present experiences and practices related to service delivery or policy decisions. Abstracts will be required to include clear context, process, analysis and outcomesWe invite abstracts that address one or more of the following themes:

  • Improving immunisation coverage
  • Immunisation programmes
  • Vaccine confidence and communication
  • Vaccine preventable and emerging diseases
  • Vaccine safety and vaccine effectiveness
  • Closing the equity gaps
  • New vaccine technologies
