Reintroduction of registration fees for IMAC education courses from 1 July 2026

From 1 July 2026, registration fees will be reintroduced for many IMAC vaccinator training courses.
This is a return to IMAC’s business-as-usual model, as temporary funding that enabled full fee subsidies from Health New Zealand has ended.
The full list of course fees, effective from next month, is outlined below.
Please note that foundation‑level courses will remain free to support employers and new vaccinators entering the workforce. These include:
- Flexible learning vaccinator foundation
- Vaccinating Health Worker (VHW) Stage 1
- Maternal Immunisation Essentials for Midwives
- Two Health NZ courses hosted on the IMAC website: 'Getting started with the Aotearoa Immunisation Register' and 'Supporting people with disabilities with decision-making and consent'.
Many employers already fund professional development and may choose to cover course fees. Please talk to your employer or professional body about support options.
Health New Zealand will be providing further information on the fee reintroduction in a sector panui on Wednesday 3 June. For questions related to fee reintroduction, you can contact Health NZ at immunisation@tewhatuora.govt.nz.
For queries related to specific IMAC courses, please email imaceducation@auckland.ac.nz.
