Overview

Influenza vaccination, during any stage of pregnancy, has been found to be highly effective in preventing influenza and its complications for mother and child. Vaccination during pregnancy provides passive protection for the baby, passed in utero through the placenta. Maternal influenza vaccination protects three (the mother, the unborn baby and the infant), with one vaccination.
