Winter Preparedness Symposium 2026

The Immunisation Advisory Centre invites you to the Winter Preparedness Symposium 2026, to be held at the Holiday Inn, Auckland Airport on 3 March 2026.

This one-day event will focus on vaccinations for influenza, COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses prevalent during Aotearoa’s winter season.

The Symposium is now a well-established event on the immunisation professional development calendar and attracts a combined audience of around 300 health professionals. This includes a variety of practitioners and researchers from areas such as public health, occupational health, pharmacy and general practice.

The Symposium will be of interest to practitioners and researchers from areas such as public health, occupational health, pharmacy and general practice. It’s also a great opportunity to catch up with your colleagues working in immunisation.

We'd love to see you there, either in-person or online.

Symposium content

This year’s topics will include:

  • Influenza in the NZ context: patterns of disease and immunisation coverage
  • International influenza: global surveillance and overseas trends
  • Seasonal influenza vaccines: conventional, enhanced, needle-free and future options
  • Update on the SHIVERS-VI project
  • International updates on COVID-19 and RSV vaccines
  • Examples of service delivery success

The Symposium can be attended in person or online via Zoom webinar.

  • A certificate of attendance and recording of the Symposium will be available to download via an emailed link.
