Overview

Our resuscitation course is designed to provide all levels of vaccinators with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to emergencies in community and healthcare settings. This course has been designed to meet the standards outlined in the New Zealand Immunisation Handbook (Appendix 4.4).  

This education offers a blended learning experience, consisting of:  

  • E-learning - self-paced online modules (approximately 3hours)  
  • An online assessment with 20 multiple-choice questions  
  • A 2-hour in-person workshop.  

E-learning course modules:

  • Introduction to Basic Life Support (BLS)  
  • Equipment and Readiness  
  • CPR Techniques  
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)  
  • Team-Based Emergency Response  
  • Recognition and Management of Anaphylaxis  
  • Choking Incidents

Note:

Some nurses may have employer requirements to complete a higher level of Resuscitation training.  

Doctors will require higher-level certification to maintain their professional development requirements.

Parking info: There is limited parking available outside the PHE office. Please do not park in the staff car park during the day.  

Forum North is the best place to park (5 min walk from office) - it is paid parking for day sessions.  Please be aware of the time limit and cost of on the street parking.
