Overview

This 3-hour course introduces yellow fever vaccination and serves as an authorised vaccinator update for those needing 3 hours of yellow fever–specific CME/CNE to renew their authorisation under the New Zealand Yellow Fever Policy.

Please note: this course does NOT meet the requirements for initial yellow fever vaccinator authorisation.

Registration requirements

You must:

  • be an authorised vaccinator working in an approved yellow fever vaccination clinic administering yellow fever vaccination with a prescription
  • hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate.

Eligible roles include Medical Practitioners or Nurse Practitioners with prescribing rights, registered nurse or authorised (nurse) vaccinators.  

Course modules:

  • Yellow fever international regulation and policy
  • Yellow fever disease, epidemiology, and risk to travellers
  • Yellow fever vaccine and administration

Assessment

The assessment is in two parts. The first part is a set 10 multiple choice questions with 20 minutes to complete; the second is a set of 5 multiple choice questions with 10 minutes to complete.

On completion, you can print out a certificate as evidence of learning.
