The course includes mpox and JYNNEOS vaccine information, JYNNEOS composition and safety profile, eligibility criteria, and practical steps storing, preparing and administering the vaccine.

This course is currently funded by Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora and is required for authorised vaccinators and recommended for everyone prescribing or administering the JYNNEOS vaccine.

Prerequisites
  • You are a health professional and have a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Current CPR
  • Currently working at a site that administers mpox vaccine
Course content
  1. Mpox disease, JYNNEOS vaccine composition, contraindications, precautions and recommendations, and vaccine eligibility, safety and effectiveness.
  1. JYNNEOS vaccine storage, preparation and administration.

The course provides 1 hour of continuing professional development. On completion, you can print out a certificate as evidence of learning.
